The Te Puke Community Fund
The Te Puke Community Fund was established in December 2025 by the Te Puke Community Charitable Trust.
The Te Puke Community Charitable Trust re-settled its funds to create a Te Puke Community Fund with the Eastern Bay Community Foundation.
Trust Chairperson, Jenny Wotten said “We are closing one chapter and opening an exciting opportunity where people who love Te Puke have an avenue to invest in its future long-term prosperity.”
The Te Puke Community Fund will support the communities in the wider Te Puke area via grants and distributions. The Community Foundation smarter giving model means that the initial gift stays intact, and the investment income generated each year gives growing support to this community so this Legacy Fund will benefit the Te Puke area into the future. All donations given to the newly established fund will be invested by the Foundation for the long term good of the Te Puke, Maketu, Paengaroa communities, their people and local projects.
The Foundation will establish and maintain a Te Puke Community Fund Distributions Panel, who will select the projects and recipients for the distributions of the Fund. The area of benefit will be the local government Maketu/Te Puke Ward boundary. The Panel will consist of delegated representation from the following local entities: The Foundation, Te Puke Eastern Community Board (two members), Maketu Community Board, Tapuika Iwi Authority, Te Kapu o Waitaha Iwi.
The Foundation Manager Angela Jackson says “We are excited to welcome the Te Puke Community Fund into the Foundation’s family as it will support the Te Puke area for 10 years, 20 years and 100 years and onwards. We are witnessing the generosity of the Te Puke community, with intergenerational impact in mind “.
This fund is designed to meet the local needs of the wide Te Puke area, ensuring that the district can grow and thrive, supporting the community.
