Applications open for 2026 Tertiary Scholarships

Eastern Bay Community Foundation opens 2026 Tertiary Scholarships

The Eastern Bay Community Foundation is delighted to announce that applications for four local scholarship funds will open on 1 August 2026.

Established through the generosity of local families and donors who are passionate about giving back, these scholarships aim to support our region’s talent, ease the financial burden of tertiary study, and encourage the next generation of Eastern Bay leaders to excel across a wide range of fields.

If you or someone you know is pursuing tertiary education or training, explore the opportunities available this August:

Jean Smithson Nursing Scholarship: Open to registered or trainee nurses based in Ōpōtiki who are looking to upskill, undertake post-graduate study, or further their nursing qualifications.

Rod McPherson Memorial Rural Scholarship: Designed to support individuals pursuing tertiary agricultural, horticultural, or farm management studies, as well as those undertaking agricultural cadetships.

Dick Anstis Family STEM Scholarship: Dedicated to students entering their second or subsequent year of tertiary study in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Rendall Family Scholarship: A dedicated tertiary scholarship tailored specifically for graduating or former students of Tarawera High School in Kawerau.

Applications are open throughout the month of August and close on 31 August 2026.
